Andy Grisdale is a layout artist at Pixar Animation Studios in Emeryville, California. Layout is the art of camera and staging in an animated film.

Andy is currently working on Toy Story 5 for release in 2026. Previous credits include Inside Out 2, Turning Red, Soul, Toy Story 4,  Incredibles 2, Coco, Finding Dory, Toy Story 3 among others.

As a Lead Layout and Pre-Vis artist, I am responsible for setting up sequences — staging the scene, blocking in rough animation, composing shots and animating the camera. I often create rough lighting setups and pre-vis sets as needed. I work closely with the DP, editor and director to shape each sequence until it's ready to move into animation. I really enjoy the visual storytelling side of the work and love collaborating across departments.
